This Term

“Toys and Celebrations”

During Term 4, the Preps have been learning all about toys. We have investigated different types of toys, how toys have changed over time and how toys work.  We had a fantastic incursion with the CSIRO about the ‘science of toys’ and also brought our favourite toys to school for use in different activities.

Most of the Preps participated in the intensive swimming program at the Sunbury Aquatic Centre. We were very proud of the effort that the children put into their swimming and were impressed with the excellent behavior of all the students attending the program.

On the 12th of November we had a wonderful ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ day. All of the Preps brought along their teddies for a day of activities and shared some time with their 5/6 buddies and their teddy friends.

Current News:

Soon we will begin learning about the different ways in which people celebrate special occasions, particularly Christmas. We will learn about some particular customs and traditions in different countries and cultures.  As the year school year comes to an end we will be collating some of the ‘special’ pieces of work that the children have completed this year. Each class and teacher will have their own way of presenting this compilation of work and it will be a wonderful keepsake for you to treasure for years to come.

Our preparations for 2010 are now beginning. Where has the year gone? Over the next few weeks we will be looking at class groupings for next year and also having our 2010 Prep transition days. By now, any requests regarding friendship groupings for next year will have been given to Mr Clinkaberry.

Dates to remember:

Prep 2010 Transition: November 26, December 2 and December 8

Reports go home: December 11

Family Picnic: December 16

2010 Class Visits: December 18

As the weather has been very hot, please remember to always send you child to school with plenty to drink, preferably water.
